What's the best way to deal with depressiona and anxiety? Quickly and definitively. Whatever kicks them off, depression and anxiety both are maintained by styles of thinking that magnify the initial insult and alter the workings of the brain in such a way that the longer an episode exists, the less it takes to set off future episodes.
Anxiety and depression are probably two faces of the same coin. Surveys have long shown that 60 to 70 percent of people with major depression also have an anxiety disorder, while half of those suffering anxiety also have symptoms of clinical depression.
The stress response system is overactive in both disorders. Excess activity of the stress response system sends emotional centers of the brain into overdrive so that negative events make a disproportionate impact and hijack rational response systems. You literally can't think straight. You ruminate over and over about the difficulties and disappointments you encounter until that's all you can focus on.
Researchers believe that some people react with anxiety to stressful life events, seeing danger lurking ahead everywhere—in applying for a job, asking for a favor, asking for a date. And some go beyond anxiety to become depressed, a kind of shutdown in response to anticipated danger.

Can You Believe That The Majority Of Children Out There Still Aren't Using Sunscreen Regularly?
This amazes me. Parents, our children are getting skin cancers & not just the type that needs to be cut off or dug out and will leave scars (as if this isn't painful emotionally, socially, physically, financially, etc. enough) but also the deadly skin cancers that frighteningly aren't detectable until it is too late or even brought to people's attention by education and the media until much later in a person's life like when young adults start caring for themselves and are exposed to more experiences involving larger numbers of people like college, work, becoming a parent themselves, caregiver to aging parents and grandparents, etc. to be aware of and and on the look out for. We now know what the Sun's effects have on our bodies like never before and that long term exposure without sunscreen protection not only causes skin cancer but also premature aging, and numerous other maladies. We as parents can protect our children by applying sunscreen on a regular basis remembering that the Sun's harmful rays can penetrate clothing as well and teaching them from very young age to incorporate this usage into their everyday self care and maintenance routines. We have to set the example by caring for ourselves as well so remember to apply your sunscreen as well!

Yummy!!! Try this recipe and if you're in Scottsdale, AZ looking for places to go I recommend Ling and Louie's Asian Bar!!!
Ling and Louie's Asian Bar and Grill is celebrating the year of the fiery dragon (which only comes along every 12 years, by the way) January 20th through Monday, January 23rd.
Ling and Louie's thinks it's a time of the year to say thank you to all of their wonderful guests, and a great way to wish them all good luck and good fortune in 2012. So now the big question....how will they say thank you? Well, it would not be Chinese New Year without the traditional Chinese New Year decor, and, of course, Ling's take on traditional Chinese dishes that have symbolic meaning during the new year. They are also known for putting a spin on some of the Chinese favorites like General Ling's Chicken, which is a spin on the General Tso's Chicken. Personally, my favorite is their Coconut Shrimp and their delicious Miso soup.
Did you know that the "peach" symbolizes immortality in China and peach trees are believed to possess more vitality then any other tree? So, with that said, you might want to order up "The Immortal Peach" from their popular bar area. (Ginger Peach Tea infused Bourbon, ginger lime syrup, Fee Brothers Peach Bitters, topped with Cock and Bull Ginger Bear)
Ling and Louie's Asian Bar and Grill in Scottsdale at 9397 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85260 and in Chandler inside Wild Horse Pass Casino.

Today was nuts, right?
Google launched a petition. Wikipedia voted to shut itself off. Senators' websites went down just from the sheer surge of voters trying to write them. NYC and SF geeks had protests that packed city blocks.
You made history today: nothing like this has ever happened before. Tech companies and users teamed up. Tens of millions of people who make the internet what it is joined together to defend their freedoms. The free network defended itself. Whatever you call it, the bottom line is clear: from today forward, it will be much harder to mess up the internet.
The really crazy part? We might even win.
Approaching Monday's crucial Senate vote there are now 35 Senators publicly opposing PIPA. Last week there were 5. And it just takes just 41 solid "no" votes to permanently stall PIPA (and SOPA) in the Senate. What seemed like miles away a few weeks ago is now within reach.
But don't trust predictions. The forces behind SOPA & PIPA (mostly movie companies) can make small changes to these bills until they know they have the votes to pass. Members of Congress know SOPA & PIPA are unpopular, but they don't understand why--so they're easily duped by superficial changes. The Senate returns next week, and the next few days are critical. Here are two things to think about:
1. Plan on calling your Senator every day next week. Pick up the phone each morning and call your Senators' offices, until they vote "no" on cloture. If your site participated today, consider running a "Call the Senate" link all next week.
2. Tomorrow, drop in at your Senators' district offices. We don't have a cool map widget to show you the offices nearest you (we're too exhausted! any takers?). So do it the old fashioned way: use Google, or the phonebook to find the address, and just walk in, say you oppose PIPA, and urge the Senator to vote "no" on cloture. These drop-in visits make our spectacular online protests more tangible and credible.
That's it for now. Be proud and stay on it!

Reddit, both the community and the team behind it, you're amazing. And of course, thanks to the Wikimedians whose patient and inexorable pursuit of the right answer brought them to take world-changing action. Thanks to David S, David K, Cory D, and E Stark for bold action at critical times.
